One of the biggest advantages to the Lap Band procedure is that band's size can be adjusted to meet my patient's needs. Not only does the band create a smaller stomach pouch, it also controls the stomach’s outlet between the two areas. Once the lap band is put into place, it can be tightened or loosened to help you loose weight safely. The ability to adjust the Lap Band makes it possible to customize the rate of weight loss for each of my patients and adjustments are a normal part of follow-up care.
